Koran SINAR PAGI,BANDUNG CITY – Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan monitored Cirangrang Village, Babakan Ciparay District to oversee road repairs, sanitation, and drainage for residents (17/1/2026).
The visit was a follow-up to the 75th Disaster Preparedness Neighborhood Security Program to ensure that environmental infrastructure complaints are addressed concretely.
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan gave directions in the Neighborhood Association (RW) Two area which has been affected by damaged roads and flooding.
Cirangrang Village Head Iwan Rijwan reported three residents’ proposals, one of which has been completed through the Perkasa Program hotmix asphalt paving.
“The first one has been completed, the hotmix work through the Perkasa program. The results are good, and the volume is also appropriate,” said Iwan.
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan ordered the construction of septic tanks as an initial solution for residents’ sanitation.
“The septic tank project will be implemented through a budget shift. This is a direct order from the Mayor, so there should be no further obstacles,” Iwan said.
The head of RW Dua, Cirangrang Subdistrict, Asep Kardiman, explained that the clogged water channel in Neighborhood Association (RT) One triggered the flooding.
“The water can’t flow, so it rises up and causes flooding. The solution must come from below, by building a septic tank, then other problems can be resolved,” explained Asep.
Asep appreciated the Mayor of Bandung’s swift action in making decisions directly on the ground.
“Thank God, the solution is clear and the direction comes directly from the Mayor. Everything discussed today is clear,” he said.
Residents also requested additional drainage around the mosque to ensure water flows more smoothly during the rainy season.
RW Dua submits routine proposals through the Development Planning Meeting and Initiative Program for house renovation.
Asep said his area has many uninhabitable houses and is grateful that many proposals have been approved.
“Thank God, RW Dua has always had the most house renovations, and many of the applications have been approved,” he said.
The Bandung City Government aims to reduce flooding, improve sanitation, and enhance the comfort of life for Cirangrang residents.
